All SEAS students are encouraged to address social justice issues by participating in altruistic activities such as food and clothing drives, raising money for Catholic charitable endeavors, being active in Pro-Life causes, performing for the elderly, and preparing meals and providing other basic needs for the poor. They become involved in the mission of the Catholic Church and learn about environmental and health issues through many and varied school-wide activities.
To further our commitment to produce citizens who are confident, self-directed, and who live the gospel, students at SEAS may participate in a wide range of activities outside of the traditional classroom setting. Students regularly take educational field trips that enhance the curriculum. They learn leadership skills through active participation in a variety of extra-curricular activities.
SEAS is committed to providing a rigorous academic curriculum and spiritual guidance, along with personal and emotional growth within a Catholic faith community. Math, language arts, science, social studies, and religion classes are taught to all students daily. Ancillary classes such as physical education, music, computer, library, French and Spanish are taught once or twice a week depending upon the grade level.
St. Elizabeth's Guidance Program offers full-time guidance and support services to its school community. Our state-certified counselor meets one-on-one with students who may be experiencing personal or academic concerns. The counselor also teaches guidance classes across the grades that are proactive in nature. These classes address such topics as bullying, decision-making, self-esteem, peer pressure, safety, and friendship skills.
The Individual Needs (IN) classroom is available for students in kindergarten through seventh grade who need minor classroom adjustments. The decision to place a student in the IN Room should come from a variety of sources which include parents, teachers, administration, and any professional evaluations the child may have. This program is supplementary and tutorial in design. Students attending the IN Room are scheduled for instruction in lieu of an ancillary class. There is a monthly fee assessed to IN Room students.
In keeping with the SEAS commitment to guide our students’ growth in mind, body, and spirit, and to develop good sportsmanship and enhance leadership skills, SEAS also offers students the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports as well as academic and service clubs and organizations.
